Congresswoman Michelle Steel Endorses Nathan Hochman for Attorney General

Los Angeles, CA – Congresswoman Michelle Steel, who represents Coastal Orange County in Congress, has announced her support for former US Assistant Attorney General and candidate for California Attorney General, Nathan Hochman, as he runs to succeed Newsom appointee Rob Bonta in 2022.

In announcing her endorsement, Congresswoman Steel stated: “With crime on the rise in California, it is critical that we elect a qualified, competent Attorney General in 2022. As a prosecutor and nationwide leader in the legal community, Nathan Hochman has a long track record of effectively fighting for California families. He has my full confidence to the be next Attorney General of California.”

In response to the news, Hochman stated “I am honored to have Congresswoman Michelle Steel join our growing campaign to restore public safety for California.”

Nathan Hochman is an experienced prosecutor, lawyer, and civic leader. After graduating from Brown University and earning his law degree from Stanford Law School, Hochman clerked for a US District Court Judge in Los Angeles before becoming an Assistant US Attorney for the Central District of California. As a prosecutor, Hochman brought justice to drug lords, corrupt government officials, tax evaders, and violent gang members. In 2008, Hochman was appointed by President George W. Bush and confirmed by the US Senate as US Assistant Attorney General overseeing the Department of Justice’s Tax Division. Nathan has served his community on numerous charitable boards and as a member and President of the Los Angeles City Ethics Commission.

Hochman launched his campaign for Attorney General at the end of April and has since raised nearly a million dollars—establishing himself as the leading Republican challenger to Gavin Newsom appointed Attorney General Rob Bonta in the 2022 election.
