Attorney General Candidate Nathan Hochman Raises $1 Million
December 7, 2021

Nathan Hochman, a former Assistant U.S. Attorney General and federal prosecutor, general counsel, and candidate in the 2022 race for California Attorney General, has raised over $1,000,000 in his campaign to unseat Governor Newsom appointee Rob Bonta in 2022.

“It is humbling to announce today that we have raised over a million dollars in our campaign to restore public safety and security to California” remarked Nathan. “With a little less than a year to go, I am so excited at the diverse, bi-partisan support we have received from across the state, with over 35% of our contributions coming from Democrats and Independents. We are building a campaign that can and will win next November.”

After graduating from Brown University and Stanford Law School, Nathan clerked for a US District Court Judge in Los Angeles before becoming an Assistant US Attorney for the Central District of California. In 2008, Nathan was appointed by President George W. Bush and confirmed by the US Senate as Assistant US Attorney General overseeing the Department of Justice’s Tax Division. After leaving DOJ, Nathan has had a successful career as a defense attorney, civil litigator and appellate counsel in two international law firms. Nathan served as a member and President of the Los Angeles City Ethics Commission from 2011 to 2016 and has serves on numerous community boards..

With over $1,000,000 raised and a year left to go, Hochman has already raised more funds than any Republican running for Attorney General in the past decade.  He is the leading Republican candidate for Attorney General in the 2022 race.

Nathan launched his campaign for Attorney General at the end of April. Since then, he has secured the endorsement of a growing number of prosecutors, elected officials, and community leaders. He has made addressing fentanyl and the opioid epidemic a key issue of his campaign.
